Soon to rise: new Facebook campus headquarters in Menlo Park, California.
Facebook co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg teams up with starchitect Frank Gehry on the design of Facebook West, an enormous 10-acre "war room" that will house the offices of Zuckerberg & his engineers.
Some of the design concepts they are working on:
- work benches that line up in curving arcs
- meeting rooms that will be painted with graffiti
- ad-hoc lounges furnished with arcade consoles
- skylights & clerestories in the 26-ft high ceiling to shower the vast space with daylight
- glass-partitioned space at the very center of the room where Zuckerberg will hold office
- out-door terraced cafes that will serve sushi & barbecue
- a twisting modern stair within a tall cube of glass that will lead to a lush rooftop garden
Construction will start in the spring of 2013 & expected to open also in the spring of 2015.

Ooh, I heard about this! I'm so excited to see how it will turn out. The notion of having graffiti walls reminded me of my old workplace. It is sooo cool. They hired real graffiti artists. They painted walls and the concrete floor too. :P
