I was in a recent media preview of an upcoming solo exhibit of a promising, young visual artist.
The works of Regina Margarita 'Ina' Jardiolin, a 25-year-old Painting graduate from UP CFA, will give us viewers a brief look on possible new takes on gender issues in Philippine Art.
As depicted in her 13-piece collection, she bravely combined 'the mundane & ethereal'. In Stripped : A Solo Exhibit', the artist explores "the landscape of the human body, imbuing it with
interesting touches of whimsy and fantasy."
Aside from the framed paintings, Ina
also showed paintings drawn on old now rare wooden shoe lasts. This time, Ina is taking the family name, Jardiolin of the Confetti, Marikina Shoe Exchange & Natasha shoe brands, to another domain of visual
design using a theme that is close to her heart.
Discover how Ina Jardiolin used her paintbrush
and canvas to take on these questions by going to Stripped: A Solo Exhibit. Exhibit run will be from October 5 to 20, 2014 at Kaida Contemporary Gallery
located at 36 Sct. Santiago cor Sct. De Guia Streets, Quezon City.

I've never been to an art exhibit before. At least, not where the guests are briefed about the works. I'm a late bloomer on almost anything - travel, photography, art appreciation, so I wish to expose my kids this early.
ReplyDeleteThe paintings look very "Filipino" which I like. It's identifiable for me. :)
