[SG part deux 2013 : ESPLANADE - Theatres on the Bay]

It was a 3-in-1 trip to Marina Bay on our second day. We had a planned meet-up with a former colleague & his family within the area. So, we decided to pass our time there to take in the sights.

ESPLANADE

We had late lunch at Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe in Marina Square.

Then we moved over to Esplanade Mall

where you can find art installations within the mall grounds.

The Outdoor Theatre

where we leisurely stayed to get a view of the Marina Bay Sands hotel

& the financial district area where the iconic Merlion

& the Fullerton Hotel are.

The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay was designed by two architectural firms working in conjunction - DP Architects (DPA) of Singapore and the London-based Michael Wilford & Partners (MWP).

We explored the area further

& saw this 'heart' on a tree,

a snack kiosk,

the 'human jukebox' girls

& two 'men in white'.

Of course, we took some posterity shots.

Hubby + me.

 And by himself.

When we finally met up with the Rodriguezes a couple of hours later, we made our way towards the Marina Bay Sands & Gardens by the Bay thru this concrete & steel bridgeway.
