[make it buffet at CABALEN]

Do you go for buffets?

I do, sometimes, when the appetite is big enough, just like today. ;)

I had a date with the Boss again at lunchtime.

He chose CABALEN at the Fiesta Market. Where else? ;)

It's our 3rd time to dine here. ;)

The place is very retro Filipino.

The latticework, capiz lamp, candelabra, high-back wooden chairs.

Here's what I got from the mostly Filipino & Kapampangan buffet spread.

'pancit bihon' (Chinese rice noodles)
'pinakbet' (mixed vegetables)

'tokwa't baboy (tofu & pork)
'ginataang kuhol'(snails in coconut cream)

a medley of desserts
pink 'gulaman' (gelatin)
sweetened 'sago' (tapioca)
'leche' flan (creme caramel)

They also have 'sisig', 'beringhe', grilled 'tilapia' with 'burong isda', 'kaldereta', 'binagoongan', etc. But I passed up on these. Strict diet dictates. ;)

Price : Lunch or dinner - Php 298.00/head, no drinks.
